Your house will be dirty

... if you choose to homeschool.

(Actual un-edited photographs of my living room when I came down for my morning coffee today. Let's normalize being real on the internet, mmkay?)

I am gradually coming to accept this fact, in my sixth total year of homeschooling.  And there are times when I have to just put the blinders on and focus on the things that need focusing.  These things are usually my children's education, the small amount of professional work I'm doing, keeping everyone fed and clothed and driven to their activities, and my own sanity.  There isn't typically room for much else.

I know there are tweaks that could be made to our routine to be a bit more efficient about home cleanliness and maintenance, but sometimes you just don't even have the bandwidth for the tweaks.

Especially when you're in the final six weeks of school and it's going to be a pretty big push just to finish on time with all the other activities you have going on.

So, take this as my warning to you.  Your house will be dirty.

But it will be full of love, laughter, learning, and togetherness.  The kind of togetherness upon which there is a ticking clock as your eldest nears the end of her junior year of high school.

{I will admit, there are also tears and frustrations here and there.  It's not all butterflies.  But still.  Lots of love.}

Just had to get that off my chest... and now, some pictures of lately.
