A New Hope

It's Wednesday!  Time for some Sugar and Spice Family updates.  I don't have too many pictures on my camera roll to talk about; I've picked up a few new students so life has been slightly more busy for me.  It's a good busy, and actually I'm really thankful that I can walk down to my basement or bedroom and just teach a lesson or two while the girls are nearby, without having to arrange baby-sitting or use gas to leave the house.  Pandemic teaching definitely has its perks, although I do think that in-person lessons are preferable from an educational standpoint.

We spent the weekend celebrating a relieving end to all the election anxiety.  This beautiful sunset

was the end of a gorgeous day on Saturday with temperatures in the 70s.  I was at the playground with C and J when the news came in on my phone that Biden had won!  We celebrated that evening with an ice cream takeout order from our local favorite shop which makes homemade Pumpkin Hydrox ice cream this time of year...... yummmmmmmmm.....

which we ate while staying up late with the girls to hear the new president- and vice-president-elect speak.  What a relief it was that I could put my children in front of the television to watch a presidential address without worrying that he would say something inappropriate.  Huge.

The girls cheered hard for Kamala Harris and I had tears rolling down my cheeks when she talked about all the little girls watching.  J gave her a big thumbs up.

That's a little bit of Hydrox still on her cheek, I think.  :)

We took our evening to celebrate, but even as we did, I was subconsciously aware that half the country is not happy as we are, and if I'm honest there's still a corner of me that is anxious for times ahead and a bit despairing about people of this country ever being able to move forward and work together.  So we're all wading through that, I think.  Trying to come up with ways that I can help from where I am.

I had said in my last post that it had been very cold... well, as they say, wait five minutes... because this week has been quite warm and we have been soaking it all up with lots of outside time and more family walks.

Daddy joined us on Sunday!

And with that I must leave you; time to get the girls from their dance class! Enjoy your week everyone :)
