Workout Recap, Shopping Regulations, and Meal Plan

Back as promised today, with the meal plan and workout recap.

First, workouts!

Friday 3/3: run inside on the treadmill, it was super rainy and windy... 5.2 miles, 9:22 pace

Saturday 3/4: rest day

Sunday 3/5: 8.71 miles outside with a friend, 10:03 pace

Monday 3/6: 6.32 miles outside, 9:53 pace

Tuesday 3/6: This Fitness Blender upper body workout, a nice change of pace since it featured Daniel instead of Kelli and some different exercises than my usual rotation.  Changing things up always makes the workout fly by!

Wednesday 3/8: 6.25 miles outside with my friend, 9:45 pace (it was raining lightly so we got pretty wet but it was still fun!)

Thursday 3/9: This Fitness Blender core workout... I really struggled with this one!  I don't know if it was because I was already tired from a big workout week, or if this is a more difficult routine, but it felt very hard and I was a sweaty mess by the end!

Friday 3/10: 6.8 miles outside with my friend, 9:52 pace

I may have mentioned before that I have been meeting a running buddy of mine and we are running six feet apart; she has been able to join me for all of my runs because she's working from home whereas before the community lockdown she could only run with me on the weekends because she left town very early on weekdays for her commute.  It has been SO beneficial for both of our mental health to have some social time while getting exercise!  I'm really thankful for her!  Our pace is well-matched too, unlike most people I have tried to run with in the past who are way faster than me, haha!  Anyway, as you can see it was a very high mileage week, over 33 miles total which is more than I run in a month sometimes!  But we get chatting and the miles fly by without our even realizing it.  On the weekends when we have extra time we can easily go nearly 9 miles, as we did last Sunday, without it feeling like a "long run".  It makes me wonder if I should sign up for a race soon since I'm basically training for longer distances right now without really meaning to.  I don't feel the need for a race; just happy to be running outside and having chats with a friend, however I can get it.  By Friday's run my legs were definitely feeling it, so I'll probably try to take it easy this weekend and get rested up for Monday's run.

Finally, the meal plan.

I did another two-week shop so we will repeat this meal plan next week.  There's even more reason to limit store trips now, since this week our town put regulations in place that no grocery store can have more than 40% of its legal occupancy at any given time.  There are policeman at the doors of our local Market Basket counting the number of people who go in.  I went early in the morning yesterday right after my run, and the line was already forming-- I was second.

There were carts and cones placed to keep us all six feet apart while waiting in line, and masking tape lines on the sidewalk.  I will say that the occupancy regulation really worked; it was very easy for me to stay six feet apart from everyone while in the store.  It seems a little safer for the employees as well, so that feels good.  Still, it's certainly an eerie and stressful time to be shopping and I'm happy to have it overwith for the next two weeks.

Here's the meal plan!

Snacks

oyster crackers and cheese
fresh fruit: strawberries, apples, oranges, grapefruit, grapes, watermelon?
fresh veg: sweet peppers, cucumber, carrots (with hummus or dip)

For Easter I have some food planned as you see, as well as Easter baskets and egg-dying this weekend, but it certainly feels very different than usual without all my Holy Week services.  I even forgot it was Holy Week until last Tuesday when I had to do a last-minute Amazon shop for some Easter basket items.  How are you all celebrating?  We will probably have some video chats with family but other than that it's quarantine-business as usual here.

Hoping you all have a blessed Easter, if you celebrate, and a great weekend!
