Happy Photos for Uncertain Times
Hi all.
Amidst a sharp rise in coronavirus cases in our state and specifically our town, it has been a week fraught with worry, decision fatigue, and crazy planning for every contingency. Teachers, administrators, professors, musicians, health care workers... we have all been super busy. I am so very weary.
I know I have been holding my girls extra close in these last few days. What a comfort they have been. We are talking with them a lot about things, because obviously it's hard to avoid them hearing all the panicky news reports and rumors at school. I have been pretty proud of their calm, compassionate, brave little souls throughout all of our conversations. It sure does make me hopeful.
So.... on to the happy photos.
A trip to the indoor playground this weekend with my younger two. This was one of their Christmas presents-- we gave them an envelope to open at the beginning of each month with a different outing or treat inside. This was the outing for the month of February-- we're a little late getting it done! The older two girls went tubing with Dad :)
A great time was had by all. It sure was sweet to see my younger two playing and protecting one another so nicely all morning! They were both just the embodiment of joy the whole time! A great day :)
A beautiful morning at the playground with this sweetie pie:
The weather here has been so gorgeous-- over 70 degrees on Monday! We haven't worn jackets since last week. Early spring certainly seems to be blessing us here and none of us are mad about it. I suppose I should knock on wood as I say that since April snowstorms are not unheard of in these parts, but... we will enjoy this while we can, for sure!
Snuggly times with the game pad after a morning of vigorous play.
The weather has been so beautiful for my morning runs-- barely two layers needed. And the full moon has made for some beautiful morning moon-sets as well!
I got to attend a "student-led conference" with L this week, and it was such a joy. She is still so excited about learning, and was so psyched to show me everything. As a homeschool-turned-public-school Mama it is so great for me to see that she is still unabashed about her enthusiasm for so many topics from Math to American history to electrical charges. I'm so thankful that she has a little group of friends that are just like her in that regard, and her teachers have been amazing about encouraging her, both this year and last. Just makes me happy :)
With that I will sign off! I hope to be back tomorrow with more food and workout talk, and I'll probably be publishing some posts I've been working on about our eczema/allergy journey over the weekend. Stay tuned and stay healthy, all!
