Coronavirus Quarantine, Days 1-3

It has been three days of missed school, and... well... there's a lot I could say about it, but for now I'll just share pictures of the things that are keeping us busy.  Looking back at my camera roll, my heart is full when I see all the happy moments, amidst all the worrying news in everyone's lives right now.

We have done three days in a row of Lunch Doodles with Mo Willems.

Really wonderful, soothing stuff.

We pretty much know how to draw all his characters now!  I has inspired lots of additional drawing, stories and comics, even some where the different characters from Mo Willems books meet each other!

The last few mornings have started with watercolor painting first thing.

The girls just get them out while Mom and Dad are doing our morning workouts, and before breakfast is even served we have several masterpieces completed!

We have done some homeschool, although we're keeping in minimal and not stressing too much over it.

Virtual ballet with our awesome instructor who sent us video classes!

All of the girls have had video chats with their friends, and this afternoon N and her bestie did a craft together, virtually!  Wasn't that resourceful of them??

There were a lot of adorable giggles heard during this cute little second grade chat.

Lots of great helpers with chores!

We took Monday to organize our supplies for homeschool... this is the "before" shot of my helpers working hard:

And the "after"... bins and drawers neatly labeled, and older used-up supplies thrown away to make enough room:

Mama's attempt at self-care: taking the time to make myself a delicious salad for lunch.

The food hoarders took all the Lucky Charms, but store-brand "Magic Stars" made an adequate substitute.  We used our imaginations and pretended Gandalf/David the Gnome was actually Lucky the Leprechaun.

And a beautiful sunrise on my run this morning!

J made this drawing yesterday to express her feelings:

I think we can all admit to having had moments like that in the past few days, but mostly, we are doing remarkably well.  Hoping that you and yours are healthy, happy, and finding your silver linings as well.
