Updates, Part 4
So we are up to the second weekend in June, updates-wise.
Saturday the 10th was N's last soccer game of the season. Grandma and Grandpa came to watch, and so they were present to see N score her first goal ever! Plus an assist!
She has had such a positive experience this year and we ended things on an amazing note! She has gained so much confidence and we can't wait for next season :)
After the soccer game Grandma and Grandpa stuck around for a sleepover. N and L both had birthday parties to attend that afternoon, so M and I split up and took them to their respective party locations while G&G stayed home with C and J. Then we ordered pizza and M & I snuck out for a date night.
We witnessed a gorgeous sunset at the apple orchard!
The following morning we went to church for our last-Sunday-school celebration, then afterwards it was quickly home to eat and get our little dancer dressed for her recital.
She did such a beautiful job, and it was so special having Grandma and Grandpa there to celebrate the occasion. She has grown up so much since her first dance class when she had just turned 4. Back then I had to coax and bribe and convince Her Shyness into the room at every class. Now she races in and soaks up every minute, and has been described by her teacher as "a responsible leader" and is even invited to join the competitive dance team next year. Wow.
Miss J, by the way, did very well to sit through the recital during nap time. I think she actually really enjoyed the show and the music. She got pretty antsy in the last 15 minutes or so, but I'd say that's pretty good, all things considered.
Out to ice cream afterwards!!
From there, Grandma and Grandpa had to get back to CT, and I was off to my weekly Sunday evening mass to sing. What an amazing weekend!
Since then, all activities have ceased, and so it has been wonderful and glorious empty days of hanging around the house, tying up loose ends with school, cleaning, organizing, cooking, spontaneous playdates with friends, and fun day trips.
(those are pesto chicken and veggie stuffed spaghetti squash, by the way. highly recommended.)
Aaaaaaand that's it!! You're officially up-to-date!
