2016 in {Many} Photos

Last year (sadly) I didn't manage a "2015 in 12 pictures" post-- but this year I am reviving the tradition.  As I was getting ready to do this one and looking back on this year's photos, I realized that much of this year is a bit of a blur in my memory.  That's what sleep deprivation and busyness will do to you, I guess, but it made me even more glad to come here and organize my head a little bit.  Because we were so busy, it was hard to narrow it down to just one photo per month... and so this is going to be more like "2016 in 20-something Photos".  K???

~January~

A refreshing weekend away for Mama

and C turns four, celebrated with a few friends at her Star Wars birthday party (pictured here dressed as Queen Amidala)!

~February~

Fun homeschool projects

and Valentines exchanges with several groups (J's face, lol!)

~March~

A trip to Washington DC to see my siblings, sans Daddy (he was on a church youth group retreat)

and a beautiful Easter celebration

~April~

A mom-daughter date to see Swan Lake and then a relaxing night away for Mama in CT

The beginning of spring means family hikes in short sleeves!!!

~May~

N makes her first pinewood derby car ("Scarlett Speed") and races successfully!

Our little angels have a blast performing in the church kids' musical "Dare to Be a Daniel"

C wraps up her first year of preschool with an ice cream party!

~June~

L turns 6 and we celebrate at home with her favorite meal of mac n' cheese and a store-bought cake.

We take an awesome vacation in NH and do Storyland, Santa's Village, and a family hike on Father's Day.

~July~

Lots of beach days!

A fun 4th spent in CT with s'mores and BJ's fireworks around the campfire :)

N turns 8, and we celebrate with a trip up the mountain and pizza, and a store-bought cake!

~August~

Homeschool starts again (here are some of L's early projects)

and we celebrate the Opening Ceremonies of the 2016 Rio Olympics by making Olympic torch cupcakes!

~September~

C starts her second year of preschool with confidence

N begins a new love affair with soccer (her very first season)

and J turns 1 (celebrated with a small family party)

~October~

Daddy takes a vacation week, and among other things we take a hike at Purgatory Chasm on a beautiful day (the ice cream truck came!)

We enjoy the gorgeous Massachusetts foliage

and a fun-filled Halloween!

~November~

We attend L's very first gymnastics meet, at which she earns 3rd place on bars, and 4th place on floor and beam!  We are SO proud!

We enjoy a wonderful relaxing Thanksgiving visit to CT <3

~December~

We're off to DC again, and the older girls attend the Christmas Revels performance-- my sister Bethany performs in the chorus!

We enjoy a beautiful and relaxing Christmas at home (after a busy busy concert season of singing for both Mama and Dada) with Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Beth

and we cap off 2016 with a New Year's Eve gymnastics meet on Cape Cod, in which L took 2nd place on floor and 3rd on beam

and a peaceful, cold walk on the beach afterwards with dear friends (in silly hats)

Wow.  How blessed are we??
