Weekend and Meal Plan

It has been a gloriously relaxing weekend here.  After a bit of a stressful week with school and a case of the blahs it was much needed for everyone.

Some of us may or may not have stayed in our pjs all day long yesterday.

After an hour or two playing Barbies when they first woke up, there was a MAJOR play-doh sesh on Saturday AM that lasted-- I kid you not-- four hours.

I had made some "Elsa Play-Doh" to give to our friends as party favors at C's birthday last weekend (basically just homemade turquoise play-doh with a lot of glitter mixed in).  We had quite a bit leftover and the girls whipped it out and sculpted the morning away.

They made snowflake cookies, cakes with blue flowers on top, snowmen with top hats, a factory assembly line with play-doh parts and a conveyor belt made out of my silicon potholders... EVERYTHING they could imagine was made with this play-doh.  It was epic.

Epic, I tell you.

After a leisurely time spent enjoying my coffee, watching the girls play and chatting with M for a while, I spent a couple of hours grading for my class and then had an afternoon run on the treadmill while M fed the girls lunch and put them down for naps.

We also had some groan tubes leftover from the party favors, and so this happened:

Today we took a trip to Ikea after church.  My phone was dead so I couldn't take any pictures, but click here if you need a reminder of how much we love that place.  We didn't buy much; it was mostly shopping and making notes for future decisions, and of course we had our 50-cent froyo cones on the way out.  But it was awesome.

Sometimes you just need a little relaxation and change of pace, eh?

Hope you are all enjoying the weekend!  Here's our meal plan...
