Yesterday we went to the art museum. We all love that place so much!
They had a free watercolor class:
 |
| We had just seen the cat mummy statues in the Egyptian exhibit, and C said, "I'm going to paint two cats." She's working on the second one in this pic and the first one is on the left side of her butterfly (green circle head with two brown eyes) |
 |
| L painted a picture of our family "in sleeping bags on a camp-out" |
 |
| N did a beach scene |
| |
| in her glory! |
Then we went to the free origami class:
 |
| N decorates her origami dog |
 |
| L makes a samurai helmet for her origami dog |
 |
| extreme concentration |
The girls were so good for the whole day, so good in fact that we stayed right through nap time. It was so enjoyable just walking through the peaceful galleries and lingering and chatting about the artwork with the girls. Their favorites were the modern American art and the medieval art. The staff at the museum were so friendly and great with kids, and it was a great learning atmosphere. I hope we can go back soon-- even with a full day there, we didn't see everything!
A wonderful day :)
What creative girls!! I love to see young kids in museums, I think it's great. Fine art isn't just for grown-ups : )
ReplyDeleteYou should know that N remembered all the things she saw with you when y'all went last year, and she was pointing them out to me :)
