Inner Monologue

~Sharing with you bits of my inner monologue from yesterday morning~

{At the breakfast table}

~ Geez I really miss blogging.  Maybe I should try to find time to write a post today.  But then I'd have to find something profound or meaningful to say, or at least share some pictures.  Hmmm.  Maybe I'll just take a few pictures now and see where things go.

~My kids are officially addicted to Rice Krispies (strike that... reverse it... Crispy Rice).

Healthy eating in the morning has really gone the way of the dodo in the past two weeks.  Hopefully someday soon it won't take the jaws of life to pry me out of bed in the mornings, and I'll have more energy for planning and preparing more fruits & veggies, protein and whole grains for breakfast.

Survival mode is allowed when one is finishing up grading for one's online class, no?

~ C is saying, "Laugh, Mama."  I guess she was saying something that was supposed to be funny and I should have been paying attention.  Focus, Ab.

She laughed at herself.  Cool.

I kind of can't stand the cuteness of her Thomas pjs.  And her blanky tucked neatly around her.

~Speaking of cuteness, L is pretty funny with that "crown" she made herself out of random scraps.

The intense concentration as she traces her own hand so carefully is also awesome.  It's pretty fun to watch her wheels turn.

She is looking pretty sick though.  If she's still running that low grade fever that she was last night, we'll have to stay home from preschool field day today.  Actually, it will be kind of nice not to have to pack a picnic lunch and get directions to the field and drive her there and back.  If we stay home, maybe I'll be able to get a few things done that were actually due yesterday.  Liking filling out her preschool parent evaluation form... or making our payment for N's school pictures... or going to the bank for a contribution to L's end-of-the-year teacher gift... or returning those DVDs to the library... or... or...

~Oh, here comes the trash truck.  That means our weekly gathering at the window to watch is about to take place.

I guess I'll grab my coffee and go over and watch with them.

Oh hey there naked Cabbage Patch doll on the floor, wearing N-made butterfly headband.

The house is pretty dirty.  Remember that helpful post on realistic, low-pressure cleaning for busy moms?  Must print out one of those lists for myself soon.

Whoa, did that just happen?  The trash man, in his extreme haste, seems to have let one of C's dirty diapers roll out of the trash can and into the middle of the road.  Aaaaaand he's not even bothering to pick it up.  The trash truck is now long gone.

L: Oh no!!  Here comes a school bus!!
SPLAT
(Giggling girls... giggling Mama... despite my knowing that I will have to somehow get that mess out of the road when we go out to the bus stop later.  I mean... what can you do but laugh?)

Am I going to blog about this later?  I think the answer is yes.

{And that's about as profound and meaningful as I get these days.}

P.S.  Addendum post-writing...

In other waaaayyyy more meaningful and profound news...
