Moments
I have plenty of days where I feel quite certain that the world is going you-know-where in a hand basket. It's probably safe to say that most days I feel that way, I think.
But do you ever have one of those moments... those times when you are so struck by the beauty of this world, the truth of living, humankind's capability of such creativity and wonder, that you feel your heart will just burst to behold it?
I had one of those such moments the other night.
The sun was setting in firey pinks and purples behind a dark grayish-indigo cloud and I called N and L to the window to see it. It was astoundingly beautiful. I watched the girls taking it in with all of their youth and energy and potential for living, their faces lit up and soft and lovely surrounded by those angelic golden curls. This music played on the radio:
Time stood still for a few moments. It's hard to describe that kind of transcendence, or explain the heart-bursting.
But I trust you will know what I mean.
