2012 Trick-or-Treating

The girls had their first trick-or-treating experience in our new neighborhood last night, as I mentioned.  It was a very chilly, windy night, but the girls' excitement carried them through the evening, long enough for them to visit lots of houses and get lots of candy!  Auntie Bethie joined us for the festivities which generated an extra level of excitement!  Here we are:

I mentioned that N had been changing her mind about what she wanted to be for Halloween this year.  Well, sure enough, when we dug the costumes bag out of the closet to find a last-minute costume for C, N found her old kitty cat costume from two years ago and decided to resurrect it and abandon her witch costume.  The cat costume was a bit short, but wearable, and she was very happy with her choice.

The bigger girls decided that C should be Yoda (the costume that N wore three Halloweens ago when she was about 15 months old).  The force is strong in our family.

{C was wearing her snowsuit underneath her costume for warmth, hence the shoulder pad look.}

Mama stayed home to hand out candy (and finished the dishes and the laundry as a side benefit... just ignore the piles of laundry in the background of the video... sorry...) while Auntie Bethie and Daddy braved the elements with the girls.  What fun!

Oh, did I mention that the force is strong in our family?  Since viewing parts of the first Star Wars movie, L is now obsessed with Jawas.  When she saw another kid in a jawa costume while out trick-or-treating, she couldn't stop talking about it the rest of the night... just watch the video, you'll see. :)

{After coming inside from the cold, our camera lens got a little foggy... sorry again!}

{Thanks, Auntie Bethie, for the outdoor video footage!}

BTW, even though you see C handling lots of candy in this video, we didn't actually let her eat any.  She just liked the crinkly wrappers.  One house we stopped at had Lorna Doone cookies on hand especially for babies, and that's what you see her eating in the video.  A big hit!

And that's our crazy life, folks!  Pretty much the most fun ever, right?
