Mish Mash

Since I've been doing a pretty poor job at keeping up with the blogging these days, I'll just include a little "mish mash" of fun/cute events that have gone on in our household during the past few weeks.  Enjoy!

I came into the room after N had been "watching" C for me while I went to the bathroom.  N said, "Look Mama! C is holding my balloon!"  She had put it close to C's hand and she had grasped on to it.  The first incidence of N and C "playing together"!

C is starting to reach for things she likes.  One of these things is big sisters-- she is so fond of them!  Some of C's biggest smiles so far have been for N.

First smiles have been happening this week (and first baby acne)!

The girls have been really enjoying Grandma's visits, which have been frequent (we're so thankful!).  Grandma fashioned this tissue paper bridal veil and flower for N las week and she has been playing with them ever since.

N helped with giving C her first bottle of pumped milk (which C took like a champ, by the way!  This means Mommy and Daddy have already had our first date night!  Woo hoo!!)

Due to an explosion in L's verbal and comprehension skills in the past few weeks, L and N have had an explosion in new games that they can play together.  I happened upon this impromptu tea party that was self-initiated by the girls while I was getting dressed one morning.

N's preschool has been hosting weekly concerts with a local children's singer/guitar player.  An open invitation was issued to siblings and other neighborhood children.  L has gotten the biggest kick out of going to "school" and dancing with the big kids!

L was kind enough to loan C her hat on a nature walk yesterday (we've been enjoying a lot of outdoor time during this mild winter and really enjoyed the 50-degree days this past weekend!  Unheard of during a New England February!)  The hat was a little big but C was snuggly warm!

The girls have discovered another thing they can make with the princess puzzle: a runway!

Last weekend, Grandma and Grandpa gave the girls the Valentine's Day present of tickets to Sesame Street Live.  It was a BIG hit.  You can see some of their reactions to the show in this video.  By the end, L was dancing in the aisles!

P.S. Just to recap: C's milestones so far include smiling (5 weeks of age) and reaching for things (3 weeks of age).  I'm just trying to record all of these things before I forget them!  I've never had six weeks of my life go by so quickly.  We are certainly very busy!!
