Entertainment

Here's some entertaining material from the girls.

Footage of L enjoying Mama's homemade tomato soup (does it remind you of that classic scene from Billy Madison?):

A couple of funny quotes from N:

"Mama, can we listen to the Gator Round song?"
(It took me a long time to figure out what she meant.  She was talking about "I get around" by the Beach Boys.  The Beach Boys Greatest Hits Album is a favorite at the dance parties in our house.)

After listening to some of the Lion King soundtrack in the car, N came into the house singing...

"I just can't wait to be King..... Kong."

No idea where that one came from.  I don't think she knows who King Kong is!

So, I celebrated my 30th birthday on Friday... eek!  But at least I spent the day doing some fun apple picking and baking with these girls:

N's preschool did a field trip to the orchard, and we were happy to come along and replenish our apple supply

Enjoying our donuts after the hard work of apple picking and hayrides!

The pie we made when we got home (yes that's my belly in the bottom of the pic! haha!)

The belly pictured above got bigger after I enjoyed this slice of pie during naptime.  Apple pie has been synonymous with my birthday since I was a little girl-- I'm glad my 30th year was no different!
When M got home, I was treated to flowers and a card from him.  (Can I just say that I love him so so much?  He's just about the best guy there is!)  Then we all went to Sonic for my birthday dinner ( we can't afford much fancier things at this point... but as long as I don't have to cook, I'm happy!!)

It was a great birthday.  :-)
