What a week!
Well, I think the girls are finally on the mend. I'm pretty glad that last week is now behind us. Hopefully we'll all be less grouchy, more rested, and back to our normal selves soon.
Here's what we did today:
Don't let the bright sunshine in this video fool you... it was extremely cold and windy today. N cried repeatedly because she was cold (and probably still not feeling well). L was completely happy the whole time. When we got back to the car and turned the heat on, however, N said, "That was fun with the birdies!!" Evidently she still enjoyed the day despite the cold. We had a nice nature walk, and of course saw lots of wildlife.
The milestones are happening faster than I can write them down, even with all the sickness. Pretty amazing. Here's some video of L's ever-improving dance skills:
L is now pulling up and cruising with confidence. Pretty impressive, considering the first time she ever pulled up was not even two weeks ago. Within the past two days, she has started letting go with one hand, and sometimes both hands. The amount of time that she can stand unassisted is gradually increasing. Ummmm... will this kid be walking before she turns 1? Oy vey. I snapped some poor pictures on my phone:

Not only does L seem to have a lot less fear than her sister did at this age, but she is a very determined practicer of new skills. She practiced standing up constantly all weekend... right through naptime today. After burning all those calories, she ate a gigantic supper (half an avacado and almost half a black-bean quesadilla), downed a 6-oz bottle, and crashed. I'm hoping all this activity means that her night-time wakings will decrease. :-) Seriously, I'm quite proud of all of these rapid accomplishments. Hooray for L!
N is still doing very well with potty training. Her only setbacks have been my fault. Call me lazy or call me exhausted, but I let her wear diapers through her sickest days last week. Obviously if she's in a diaper one day and not having to anticipate her bathroom urges, the next day in underwear doesn't go as well. So we're going to get back to business with that now that everyone's feeling better this week. I really do think she's making rapid progress, so as long as I'm consistent we should be in pretty good shape. Hooray for N!
So... we're hitting the ground running for the upcoming week. I am hopeful that it will be a good one!

I love the "dancing" video. I think the fact that she's wearing only one sock makes it even cuter ...
