Eventful Days (and nights!)
We've had a lot going on in our family these past few days. I don't have time to write much about it, but I'll give a quick summary.
On Saturday the girls and I had a great time and my cousin-in-law's bridal shower. (Is cousin-in-law a word? She's M's cousin.) It was a tea party-- perfect for N.
After that we headed down to my parents' house. My dad snapped this pretty picture of the girls in their party dresses:
The next day we went for a lovely nature walk at a nearby state park.
It was a great weekend! Then came the not-so-great part.
During the car ride home Sunday, N started whimpering and complaining of belly pain. When we arrived home we discovered she had a fever of 103.8. We ended up taking her to the ER that night. They were never able to find anything causing the fever, but over the next day it hovered between 103 and 104.5. This morning the fever has finally broken, but I can tell she's still not 100%. I won't go into too many details, but it has been a very scary 36 hours for me. No child of mine has never had a fever this high. It was hard to know what to do, because I didn't want to overreact. Our pediatrician has always said that that fevers aren't dangerous until they get to 105. But any mother who has seen their child go through something like this knows that it is not fun. So, if it ever happens to you, give me a call! Through the whole thing, I kept wishing I could talk to somebody who would give me some answers. I think the sleep deprivation didn't help that.
The girls went to bed early last night, and I was asleep by 8:30 too. So that helps! L seems to be getting sick today though. We'll hope for the best...
