New Toy for Mama
Last Friday, M took the day off from work (a welcome relief after such a tough week for all of us)! It was a wonderful family day and we had a really great three day weekend. I just have to say how blessed I am in my husband. He gave me such a wonderful break this weekend, as he does every weekend. He did tons of dishes... cooked for us... and it seemed like every time I turned around, some mess that somebody had left out had magically disappeared. What a guy! I think I'm in love. :-)
So while M had the day off from work we did some shopping at BJ's, and since we had the extra time, we decided to get new phones from the Verizon booth there. This is something we've been meaning to do for a looong time. My phone was five years old, and M's was older... and as you know, five years is an eternity in the cell phone world.
Anyway, we weren't willing to spend any money on new phones, so we got the phone that comes free with a new contract: the LG Cosmos Touch. Not super fancy, but light years beyond our old phones. We also got a text plan since we were doing enough texting to make it financially worth it. It's funny, now that I have a fancy new phone with a qwerty keyboard and a text plan, I have this inexplicable urge to sit around and text people for no reason. I can see why this is so addicting, especially for teenagers with no impulse control. Reason number 597 why my children will never have cell phones.
One of the features I'm most excited about on the new phone is the camera, which is actually slightly better quality than our current still camera, and the ability to transfer pictures to my computer for free. This will make on-the-go picture snapping for the blog a little easier. Here are a few that I took when we got home from church the other day:
