The bright side
In the spirit of my New Year's Resolution, I'm looking on the bright side today.
The Dark Side (not Darth Vader, just the opposite of the bright side):
*Today I'm taking care of a two-year-old with a pretty bad head cold, and a 7-month old with the stomach flu.
*M is working late tonight (I'll probably be asleep when he gets home)... and tomorrow he'll be home from work for 2 hours before returning for an evening meeting.
*I've done a total of five loads of laundry today, and changed so many messy diapers I've lost count.
The Bright Side
*I've somehow managed to escape both illnesses (knock on wood) and I'm feeling healthy and energetic enough to deal with the work that needs to be done.
*M was here last night to help me through the worst of the stomach flu stuff.
*The worst of the stomach flu stuff was over by the time I wanted to go to bed, and L slept through the night afterwards.
*I don't often force myself to wash every soiled scrap of bedding, clothing, and linen, scrub every surface, and disinfect every toy in our house. It's really nice that everything is so clean.
*N has been angelically good and patient while I've tended to L today. Even L is handling the day quite well, considering the circumstances. She still has some smiles for me, for which I'm very proud of her.
*The girls napped at the same time, so I've managed to clean some more, have a moment to myself, and blog a bit!
Not too shabby, really.
