Valentine's Day, Workout Recap, and Getting Vacation-Ready

Happy Valentine's Day!

Love is in the air here at the Sugar and Spice household, as the girls have all prepared their cards to take to school and are delivering them today.  J's celebration at school was yesterday, and she came home with lots of goodies from her friends!  Today she has been busy preparing Valentines for all the characters in Harry Potter (L has been reading the books aloud to J and C-- they just finished Sorcerer's Stone).  It was so cute-- J tried to sound out all their names while I was busy with the dishes, then brought them to me to check the spelling:

"Hmn" was her attempt at Hermione, and below I gave her the correct spelling :)

"Vdmt" was Voldemort

"Hre" was Harry... then she decided she wanted to address it to Daniel Radcliffe instead and asked me to spell his name.  Pretty cute!

My sweet and tender-hearted N spent most of the week preparing gift bags and decorations for all of her friends' lockers.  She set her alarm extra early this morning and I brought her in to school about 40 minutes before the bell so she could complete the task and surprise them.  Who wouldn't consider themselves lucky to have such a friend?

C selected Shopkins Valentines and L did Guardians of the Galaxy...

...both great matches for their current personalities.  C was bouncing off the walls excited to deliver her Valentines this morning before school, and L said, "Yeah, it will be fun, but I'm not, like, little kid excited."

And of course there's this swoon-worthy Valentine...

We will probably spend a romantic evening packing our suitcases for Florida and maybe watching some TV while enjoying the chocolates he got for me... nothing fancy, but as always I can't wait to spend some quality time!

There's no meal plan this week since we leave for FL tomorrow-- I can't even bring my usual allergy-friendly foods because we're flying.  It's a bit freeing not to have to prep any food right now.  The workout recap is pretty pitiful since I took three days off trying to maximize sleep and not get sick.  But I'll list it here for posterity, anyway!

Friday 2/7: 4.8 easy miles on the treadmill, didn't track my pace (we have had two Thursday morning snowstorms these past two weeks, so on Friday mornings at my run time the sidewalks have been an icy mess... so, treadmill it is!)
Saturday: rest day
Sunday: rest day
Monday: rest day
Tuesday: rest day
Wednesday: 5.01 miles outside, 9'53" pace (getting back in the saddle)
Thursday: this fitness blender workout, plus a warm up and cool down on my own

Hopefully I'll be able to pop in with some updates from Florida... we shall see!  Happy school vacation if you have it!
