This Week in Pictures
Here's my attempt at splitting up my posts into more coherent, same-topic bursts. This one will be kid-related pictures, and I hope to stop back in on Friday with a "week of workouts" recap so that, if you're sick of my rambling about running and fitness, you can just enjoy some kiddos today and skip over Friday's post!
Here's what we've been up to this week!
We have been watching clips of the U.S. National figure skating championships on YouTube and J has been pretty obsessed. She has been practicing triple axels in her socks on our slippery hard wood, and today I found her jumping off a step-stool, trying to get enough height to make the rotation in the air. She's a pretty determined little person!
Speaking of determined people, N was coming down with a cold and had a bad sore throat on Friday, so when she requested to stay home from school I thought it sounded like a good idea. Although we planned a "rest day", N was still up and at 'em at 6:15, took her shower, got herself and her little sister dressed
...and made a plan to film herself making cupcakes and create a cooking show video on Microsoft Movie Maker.
She got about halfway through this project and was completely exhausted and crabby, so we put the brakes on before the frosting and decorating phase and decided we would do it the next day. I can certainly relate to the feeling of making a to-do list for myself that's unreasonably long!
But they did eventually come out great!
The decorations have something to do with Frozen 2; I wasn't in the room for the entire decorating process but I look forward to seeing the video soon!
Some of J's amazing artwork lately:
She is also pretty obsessed with making letters and when we found some old homeschooling handwriting worksheets she just ate them up and kept asking for more!
She also started reading her first Bob Books just last night!
She's just getting ready to take over the world with all these new skills, I guess.
Not kid-related, but is there anything better than a homemade cookie with an afternoon cup of coffee? I think not. :)
That's all I got! See you Friday!
