Since we last talked

So... last time we chatted was Thanksgiving.

Sooooo very much has happened since then.

So very much, in fact, that I think I'm going to do a "December in Photos" post so that I can get caught up quickly with images instead of words, and perhaps we can move on to more frequent updates.  Perhaps.

Okay here goes.

Early December found us making crafts and cookies for various holiday celebrations and attending a local performance of The Nutcracker.  Also, both Mama and Dada sang in various holiday concerts and church services.  Some very busy weekends.

Then we were off to DC!

We saw my sister perform in the DC Revels, which we enjoyed so very much!

Many thanks to our family who stayed with napping J and allowed us to enjoy the matinee with the older girls!

Then we did some sight-seeing

Crazy story... whilst we were at the Washington Monument a cold front blew in-- the temperature dropped about 20 degrees in as many minutes-- and the wind that ushered in the cold front was so intense that C's feet literally lifted off the ground as she held my hand.  And, since my hands were occupied keeping children from blowing away, they neglected to keep my glasses from being sucked off my face and into oblivion.  Despite M's careful searching of the lawn for about 30 minutes afterward, we never found them.  L still insists they're on top of the White House.  Hah.  It was actually quite a scary moment for all of us at the time, but we laugh about it now!

(I am still without glasses, BTW.  I finally was able to schedule an eye exam, find the child care and go, and then get my glasses ordered.  They're on their way.  And I'm ordering like 3 spare pairs this time.  Cuz I'm a scary crazy lady driving blind.)

Moving on...

We had a tour of the Capitol, which was awesome too.

(J was angelically good, despite being on missed nap number 3? I think)

(the hump on my back is a sleeping J... just call me Quasimodo)

We had parked our cars in the garage at Union Station nearby and the girls had a great time looking at all the holiday decorations there

The WHOLE fam met up for dinner at one of the restaurants there... what a great day!!

Well this is pretty long and I'm out of time for tonight.  There's much much more but I'll save it for a part 2, hopefully soon!  Tootles!
