Photo Dump and Meal Plan
It's a rainy, chilly Monday morning here and I'm thankful for the chill after several days of temps in the mid to upper 80's. After such a brutal winter you would think I would be thankful for the heat, but sleeping has proved uncomfortable in our not-air-conditioned house, especially since the growing belly is already interrupting the sleep a little. M put in our air conditioning window unit over the weekend so we're prepared for more hot weather to come.
I'm just going to share a few recent pictures, and then the meal plan!
I never blogged about L's birthday party last weekend but it was really fun. I knew I wouldn't have the energy to throw a huge bash so we kept it really simple and just invited a few friends. We had a couple of snacks, a store-bought cake, and some simple (but fun) party games, put together mostly by my crafty daughter N. I had to do very little, which made it probably the most enjoyable birthday party I've ever thrown. I'm usually a stressed out maniac for the whole week before a party, so it was really nice that Mama (as well as the kids, I think) was able to just enjoy this time.
treasure hunting
She saw this Hello Kitty cake the week before her birthday at the store, and said, "THAT'S the cake I want for my party." $15 and I didn't have to make it!!
breaking the pinata (made mostly by N with help from L)
Hershey's Kisses inside!
L's present from Mommy and Daddy... a kid's digital camera. She no longer has to steal our phones and take selfies :)
We took two trips to Old Sturbridge Village last week... one on a whim just because we wanted to get out of the house, and once to meet Grandma and Grandpa and see the parade of old-fashioned cars!
The girls especially enjoyed the old steam cars (shown in the video below). They sounded like trains!
Our OSV membership has been soooooo worth it. We love this place so much!
