Mother's Day Weekend and Meal Plan

It was a busy weekend but so enjoyable!

Saturday we attended my great Uncle Bob's memorial service.  It was sad but a really nice remembrance of him and I felt good being there to support our family.  There was a lovely luncheon afterwards and the girls got some play time on a playground nearby.

Afterwards M took the girls back home and I stayed the night in CT with my siblings who were all in town for the memorial.  It's been a while since we've all been together at the same time!

We had Flatbread for dinner (yum) and then had a night filled with laughter playing Heads Up and chatting.  A great little gift from M of a night off.

The next morning I had breakfast with the siblings before they left for the airport, and got some nice quality time with my Mom and my Dad too, without interruptions from kiddos (we all love those girls but they do keep us busy).  A nice treat!  Then I drove back up to MA for church with the girls, M, Auntie Bethie and M's Mom.  I got some sweet little homemade gifts from the girls (made with help from Auntie Bethie) and I opened them in the garden with the girls after the service.  They were so proud and it was a great moment with all three of them!

M then had his meeting with the youth so the girls and I headed home for a bit of rest time.  When M got home we took a little drive and enjoyed the beautiful day at a nearby scenic landmark.

Give these girls some rocks to skip and a body of water, and they will have fun for many hours.

Then it was home, eggs for dinner, and an early bedtime for everyone.  A full, tiring day... but so wonderful.  I am a blessed Mama.
