Happy Friday :)

Just popping in quickly to say hello!

We have had some sickness in our house but it has turned in to a nice, slow week as a result.

C was hit the hardest-- she had every symptom in the book.  Super high fever, stuffy nose, cough, and even "the spits" as my girls call it.

Poor little thing.  She spent most of Wednesday and Thursday being held by me-- she was quite sad if I ever had to put her down.  I just rolled with it... I let the dishes pile up and the mess accumulate and just enjoyed snuggling with her.  The bigger girls read tons of books, did their school, played with their new Lego Friends sets, and watched a few movies with me and C.  It was actually a really nice rest for all of us after an insanely busy Easter weekend.  Pregnancy nausea had begun to come back for me again in the days following Easter-- that seems to be how it goes lately when I get really worn out.  So in a way, I'm really glad these sick days happened and I was forced to just lay around.

On a different note, it was so nice to just enjoy my girls and not feel any pressure to do housework or be worried about the mess.  We all had some great quality time.

Especially since we awoke to an April snow shower on Thursday (yuck!!!!) it was a great time to be indoors relaxing.

Relaxation came in the form of eating 9,000 strawberries for L.

Another bonus to this week: my sister-in-law had some time off and was able to help quite a bit with the girls, so I was able to catch up on all the work I got behind on during Holy Week.  Things are settling down a bit now in my course, so it's a downhill slope, workload-wise, to the end of the class in the second week of May.  It feels amazing to have a little breathing room there.

Today was great, too... I got to spend some quality time with my bigger two ladies.  Our homeschool geography class was super cool this week.  We learned about Sweden.

The girls painted Dala horses

L borrowed my phone and took some of her own pics of her finished horse.

She took a few artsy shots with the woven heart that she also made.

We played Kubb outside, and N was really really good at it!  She knocked down three pegs for her team, and also made the winning shot!

She was so very proud of herself and I'm thrilled that I was there to see it.  I didn't get a video of her winning shot, but you can see a bit of the action here:

N is in the purple coat.

We ordered pizza for supper and C seemed almost back to her usual cheerful self.  She didn't need to be laying on me constantly, at least.

She asked if we could cut the pizza off and just give her crust (see it on her plate?).  Hey, whatever sounds good when you're sick, I say.

And, since I'm 16 weeks today, a celebratory belly pic.

Sorry for the strange skinny-ness of this pic.  I had to crop out a weird double reflection that our mirror made on my belly.  As per usual with my belly shots, I did not bother to re-take the photo.  Ain't nobody got time fo dat.

I'm starting to feel lots of little kicks and flutters in the past few days, and we find out our baby's gender in about 3 weeks!!  Time is flying so very quickly.

Enjoy your weekend, all!
