We're baaaaack... and meal plan

We arrived back in town last night after a lovely week of vacation in Florida.  We enjoyed four full days of temperatures in the mid to upper 80's while we were down there, only to be slapped in the face with this upon our return:

Today it was only in the 20s.

Boo hoo.

The snowbanks around here are still pretty formidable.  I'm hoping we'll see grass by the end of April?  I can dream, right?  We were certainly lucky to have such a nice taste of summer for a few days.

I'm so glad we went on this trip and had such wonderful time spent with family.  Traveling, however, seemed particularly exhausting for us this time around.  N and L came down with bad colds and ear infections on the road (and we think L had strep).  We ended up stopping at a clinic on the way back in the DC area and getting antibiotics for both-- they were pretty bad off and we didn't want to wait until we got home.  N's digestive issues also flared up on the road, so combined with a painful ear infection, she suffered acutely (although she was an absolute trooper and complained very little!).  Our trip home was full of her looking like this:

(head in hands, pale, a brave smile, trying dutifully to eat her salad but basically having no appetite)
We are all enjoying a rest day today at home.  My pregnancy nausea seems to have come back in the past two days, after almost two weeks of feeling good (no feeling sick in Florida! thankful for that!).  I think I just got very worn out from the travel and so I'm forcing myself to lay down in the bed next to N right now and rest-- despite the fact that bags are still not unpacked, there's a mountain of laundry to be done, I have the girls' nature science registration forms to fill out, and L is preschool snack helper tomorrow and I need to prepare individual servings of strawberries for the whole class of 27.

One thing I did manage to get done this morning was the grocery shopping, so our fridge is now stocked up with fresh fruits and veggies... including these delicious sweet peppers that my bro introduced us to when we stayed with him in DC:

We found them at our grocery store!  Yay!

Hopefully we can get our tummies back on track after lots of eating rich (albeit delicious) food on the road.  Here's the plan:
