Pregnancy, Weekend, & Meal Plan

Hi everyone!

As usual, there is much to share, and very little time to do it.  I really enjoyed doing a post a day in February (Did you notice I beat last year's record of 21 posts in the month of February, if only by one??  Go me!!).  It forced me to get the information out to you in little snippets, a bit a day, so that I didn't feel overwhelmed by the amount of catching up to do in the blog department.  The only problem is finding a minute in the day (sometimes even a minute to quickly post a picture is a challenge!) at a time when I don't have thousands of other things I should be doing, or I'm just exhausted.  And the exhausted is happening a lot more frequently now with the pregnancy.

Early on when we found out about this pregnancy I was anticipating sharing the news and, quite frankly, feeling a bit nervous about how people would react.  Almost exactly on the day I got my positive at-home pregnancy test, however, I happened upon Grace Patton's announcement of her fifth pregnancy (her fifth in five years, no less)!  She also shared this graphic the next day, which I thought you all might enjoy:

Needless to say, M and I were wondering if we might get some "wait. WHAT?" when we went public with the news, but happily, everyone has been very nice and supportive.  So thank you for that, and for all your nice comments last week when I posted our announcement!

So yes, there's lots to talk about there... I certainly want to over-share a little about how I've been feeling, what the girls think, the gender question, etc. etc.  Hopefully soon.  I've got some work to finish before I have time for writing today, plus daylight savings seems to have my brain in even more of a fog than usual, if you can believe it, because I've been pretty foggy lately.  So excuse the bad writing skillz.  I don't think my brainpower will allow much more sentence structure today.

So for now, I'm just going to share some photos from our weekend so far, and get those off the old phone.  It's been fun-packed!!

Preschool Spaghetti Supper Friday night (just like last year... we always have such fun!):

Spaghetti sauce chocolate cookie faces :)

C being camera shy, as usual

Pancake breakfast at a local farm to celebrate maple sugaring season (although technically, it hasn't started here yet! it's been too cold! we used last year's syrup for our pancakes):

(we did this last year too)

Mama's yummmm face

The sunshine was so glorious yesterday, and the temperature was a whopping 34 degrees, which felt like a heat wave to us.  We enjoyed a little walk around the farm after our brunch.

They were boiling water "just for show" in the sugar shack, since the sap isn't running yet!

They had a campy fire going and marshmallow roasting :)

See what I mean?  A lot to share.  This is turning into a long post after all!

One more thing... the meal plan!

I borrowed heavily from Elise's menu for this week's plan.  She had so many great healthy and extremely easy ideas.  She's pregnant too and admits to being tired and trying to simplify meals.  Amen, sistah.

Sunday supper: leftover spaghetti with garlic bread

Monday breakfast: leftover oatmeal bake
Monday lunch: Annie's Mac for girls, salads for grown-ups (with chicken salad... using up leftover chicken from last week)

Tuesday supper: leftovers

Wednesday breakfast: cornmeal mush or cold cereal

  1. I'm so excited for you!! My husband is one of four and one of his brothers has 4 kids, too. I never realized that people get those kind of reactions until some of my friends were sharing that about announcing their 3rd or 4th. Simplifying meals is crucial during pregnancy!
