Fun outing

The beauty of homeschooling is that freedom of schedule allows us to attend lots of cool events during the day.  Today we got dressed in our finest and traveled to Worcester to attend a ballet production at the Hanover Theater.

It was a kids' matinee-- a combined performance of two stories (Hansel & Gretel and Peter and the Wolf).  The orchestra was made up of college students, and the dancers were all under the age of 18.  It was really inspirational for the girls to see performers so young and yet so accomplished.  It was all really magical-- a very enjoyable show!

Afterwards we went to a local favorite-- the Crown Bakery-- for lunch.

Egg sandwiches for girls and an amazing (huge) lobster roll for me.

Petit fours for dessert.

There were lots of retired couples enjoying their lunches, and many of them remarked on how beautiful the girls looked in their fancy dresses (of course these ladies jumped at the opportunity to dress fancy for the ballet).  One lady remarked, as she passed by us on her way out of the baker, "What a lovely little tea party!"

And it really was!

The next ballet at the Hanover is in April, and we hope to be there :)
