Awesome weekend & meal plan

We had a great weekend; did you?

I made my grocery list Friday night, despite being waaaaaayyyyy beyond exhausted.  I'm really glad I put forth the extra effort because M popped out of bed Saturday morning at 6:45 and was at the grocery store by 7, doing all the shopping for us, while I snuggled in bed with my girls.

Just the kind of Saturday morning I wanted.

To make it even better, M brought home coffee and donuts, and we hopped in the car and drove to a huge kids consignment sale that was being held at the church where N has her girl scout meeting.  We had spied some bikes there the day before on the way out of Daisies and wanted to get back to the sale early before they were snapped up!

Our early-bird-ness paid off-- we scored not one, but TWO new bikes for the girls (one for N and one for L) for only $10 each.

Plus lots of other consignment clothes, each item for $5 or less.  A brand new Land's End raincoat for N, cute Ugg-style boots for both girls ($1.50 each!!!), these gorgeous dresses...

Plus lots more.  Major tightwad triumph.

My long run was Saturday afternoon... I won't recap the rest of my workouts this week, because... ummm... they didn't happen.  I ran 5.5 miles Monday and skipped the entire rest of the week.  No excuses really, I just really wanted to sleep in.  A lot.  And I felt very rested for Saturday's run, so that was good.  I did the whole 13.1 on Saturday and matched my last half marathon time, on a much more hilly course, with a slight case of the sniffles and a sore throat.  So hopefully conditions will be better than that for the Hartford Half in a couple of weeks, but if not, at least I know I won't be any slower than I was (maybe?).

Speaking of marathon running, have you seen the latest Kid Snippets?

Pretty funny stuff!

We called in sick to church today because my sniffles and sore throat were worsening Saturday night and all of the girls were snotty and having tummy troubles as well.  Pretty much all M and I did Sunday was chores around the house while the girls played with their Hot Wheels car park.  All day.  No joke.  They didn't play with anything else.  They stopped to eat and take naps.  There was lots of nose blowing.  But they were happy.

A great weekend, I'd say!

Here's the meal plan...
