Happy Christmas

...and it was, indeed, a happy one.

I would love to write all about it and show you pictures and videos, but I'm finding myself more weary today than I've been in a long while.

{I fear I've been sounding like I'm complaining a lot in my blog posts lately; sorry about that.  Writing is the place I come to for therapy sometimes, and this therapy happens to occur in a public place.}

Many things have been happening here in the Sugar and Spice household, and in the life of me.  And many of them are very happy things.  But still they are many.  And they are wearying.

So I'll just give you one picture today.

Okay, so that was two.

{This is our latest game... "flower girls".  Each girl wears her flower girl dress from their respective weddings, and the first time we played it of course C begged to have her own, and we dug this fancy one out for her-- last worn by N a few years ago.  It has been a frequently-played game ever since.}

And a verse that made an impact on me today:

"For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal." (2 Corinthians 4:18)

I find my thoughts drawn to "things unseen" and "eternal" lately, despite being busy and weary.  Not that I have much momentary affliction, really, besides just being really tired.

But nonetheless it's encouraging, in a strange way, to search for and wrestle with things unseen.  I guess it's probably what Christmas is all about, really.

And so to you and yours a Happy Christmas.  Peace and joy~
