So last weekend...

...this happened:

Isn't she perfect?

I mean seriously, I think I'm allowed to majorly brag on my own kid a little bit here.  As she was walking down that aisle, I was torn between the desire to smother her in kisses and eat her up for lunch.  Instead of doing either of those things, I just cried.

Flower girl is such a tiny little job, but nothing fills a mother with pride like a tiny job well done, I guess.

And the wedding was so beautiful.  I was seriously impressed with my cousin's elegant choices of decor and dress.  Everything was impeccably done and looked stunning.  Check this out:

Gorgeous, eh?

The love between the bride and groom shone throughout the day, and they were both so supportive and loving of little L in her quest to be the perfect flower girl.  I was eternally thankful for a helpful bridal party and tons of kindness and support from all my extended family (even when we got stuck in traffic and totally missed the rehearsal... grrrr!)

As a side benefit to an already outstanding weekend, I got to see my own fam-- my sister, parents, and two brothers (it had been a while since I'd seen the bros!) and my brother's wonderful girlfriend Piper.  We got to spend some quality time and capped off the weekend by tearing up the dance floor together.  My girls were very good and all three endured an exhausting day with no major meltdowns.  It all couldn't have worked out better, really!  I'm a proud Mama!

This week, my friend across the street is helping run the Vacation Bible School program at her church here in town and offered to take N along.  I've always wanted to do VBS for the girls and this is the first year we've had the opportunity.  (L and C are too little this time around, but next year for sure!)

N has been super stoked about it and enjoying herself immensely.  This morning, she dressed herself in a long dress, and then she remembered that she was supposed to wear her VBS t-shirt.  She ran to her room and threw it on at the last minute just as our neighbor swung into the driveway to pick her up.  I thought she looked adorable:

(tiara was added when she got home)

We got her those sparkly shoes (she called them glass slippers) as a birthday present, and I made her stash them away so they would stay nice for the wedding.  Since the wedding has been over, I have given her permission to wear them whenever she wants.  I think they have left her feet only for sleeping.

If I get any more good wedding pics I may add them to this post later, so check back!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

  1. L did her "job" perfectly... I half expected her to rush down the aisle, but the way she "milked" her time walking down was so cute & provided me with some comic relief before my big entrance! It was a great day!! :)
