The Robe Twins

Well, I managed to get through one week with a post every day, in keeping with my blog resolution.  The reason behind a massive amount of sleep deprivation and resulting sickness that has kept me from posting in the last few days actually revolves around a really funny story about a mouse, which I will hopefully share here soon.  Meanwhile, I'll try to get back to short and simple daily posts so that all of these memories in my head will not go unrecorded.  These kiddos certainly provide me with plenty of blog material.

Meet the robe twins (so they call themselves):

A new robe for L from Grandma (thanks!) has allowed them to start a series of games in which they both wear their robes and pretend to be twins.  They really have been like peas and carrots lately, and I've been so happy to see the beginning of real sisterly closeness in the last month or so.  I'll elaborate more on that in another post.

The Robe Twins had the following conversation over supper tonight-- a discussion debating the gender of the character "Pig" from on of their favorite TV shows, Kipper the Dog:

N: "Well, I think Pig is Arnold's Mommy, so he must be a girl.  Or... maybe he's Arnold's Daddy.  It's hard to know these things..." (quite seriously, as if pondering the mysteries of the universe)
L: "Umm... I'm preeetty sure Pig is a girl."

If you can imagine this last line in L's voice-- "Umm... I'm pweeetty suw Pig is a giwl"-- it's much more funny.  M and I had a hard time not chuckling as we met each other's eyes across the table.

It's conversations like these that remind me of Kid Snippets... have you seen them?  I laughed until I cried the first time I saw them over on Sarah's blog.  The pairing of kid voices with adult acting is pretty genius.  I'm convinced that my daughters should be the next Kid Snippets stars, if only I had a tape recorder to carry around.  This one reminds me SO much of them:

And this one...

And this one (especially since N says "What?!?" to L all the time):

Watch them all... you won't be sorry!
