Hooray!!
Remember waaaay back in this post how I was complaining about not having curtains or shades hung yet in our new house?
Well, nearly three months later, it still hadn't been done.
Until two days ago.
WOOOOOOOOO!!
M had two vacation days earlier this week and this project went on the list. It took him all of 30 minutes.
I know you're all shaking your heads at my incompetence, wondering why I didn't just brandish my drill and brackets and do it myself six months ago.
Well, there are two reasons for that:
1) I don't know how to use power tools, and I didn't want to be reading directions and learning with three small children underfoot.
2) The two rooms that needed window dressings belong to our girls, and so the times when I am free to do projects without children underfoot (nap time and after they're in bed)... well... there's always somebody sleeping in those rooms.
So there. That's my defense for sloth in the home decor department.
But it's finally done. Yay!!! Does anyone else get a giddy feeling at the tiniest little accomplishment (especially when it's something that has been bothering you for months)? Things look 100% better in those rooms... no more messy-looking blankets hung up with clothespins, and the lighting is so much improved that, as M put it, "It no longer looks like a poorly lit hobbit hole."
Three cheers for baby steps, eh? Now on to hanging pictures and some wall decorations...
