Today's Wisdom from N

N emerged from her quiet time the other afternoon singing...

"A shooting star is not a star,
it's called a meteorite."

I guess she learned this little ditty from her music teacher at school.

Then she explained a little further:

"My teacher found a meteorite on the ground and she brought it for us to see today.  They actually fall from the sky, and they're really here, in our world.  If you look hard enough, you could really find one, right here in our world.

But they're not stars.  They're like, rocks.  Or space junk."

Apparently our little four-year-old is quite the astronomy expert now!

The other night, as she was brushing her teeth, she paused and commented:

"I can't wait to be five.  When I'm five, I'll go to kindergarden with the big kids.  Then I won't have to play; I can sit at a desk and write the things I like."

I guess they do a little too much playing at preschool for the tastes of our serious little N.
