Things

Things I have NOT done:

*Cleaned out the fridge.  That one has been on the to-do list a while.  I'm about to get off the computer and go get 'er done, if everyone continues to nap (or at least stay quietly in their rooms)!
*Figured out a system to keep our arts and crafts desk organized.  The fact that my girls are prolific producers of artwork is a good problem to have.  The fact that we are always having to move mountains of finished artwork off the desk just so they can have a clear space to create more artwork is not.  And those mountains are creating piles all over the kitchen.  Portfolios, perhaps?
*Hung any curtains in the new house.  Most of our windows are still displaying the uber-fashionable decor of blankets hung up with clothespins.  *Sigh.*
*Been running since the Thanksgiving road race.  Blech.  Turkey Tummy.

Things I HAVE done:

*Got a nutritious dinner for the family in the crockpot before I had to leave to teach at 1 PM yesterday, and used up leftover turkey to boot.
*Got all three girls and myself dressed for preschool drop-off yesterday morning, packed a lunch, and squeezed in 10 minutes of violin practice with N, all by 8 AM.  Nailed it!
*Folded and put away the laundry that had been sitting unfolded in baskets since before we left for Thanksgiving.
*Remember how I was bemoaning the fact that I hadn't been able to make myself my favorite breakfast lately?  Well, I have done it!  Twice this week!
*Listened to Christmas with the Chipmunks a total of twice today with the girls, and four times yesterday.

Things I am thankful for:

*All three of my littles slept until 7 AM on Tuesday (normally it's 6 or 6:30 if I'm lucky).  Of course, C was still up for her normal nursing session at 5:00 AM, but I got to sleep a whole two hours more after that.  Wow!
*My husband is an amazing man and somehow managed to do a mountain of dishes and vacuum while I was gone teaching last night (which means he was also in charge of all three girls at the time).
*C clapping her hands gleefully every time someone says "Yay!"
*The library.

Things, of the comical variety, that L has said to me this week:

*Monday morning, L wandered by as I was blending up my peanut butter breakfast pudding.  She studied the contents of the blender and asked, "Mama, are you making poop in there?"
*Yesterday we had this conversation:
L: There's a new baby in Busytown!  (translation: I'm pretending to be a baby)
Mama: Awww, what a cute little baby.  What's your name, baby?
Mama: Oh!  That's a nice name for a baby.  Hello, baby Cogsworth.
L: (in baby voice) Will you be my Lumiere Mama?
(It's like a billion different neurons are firing at once for this girl, connecting everything she knows.)

And those are my things!  Aren't you glad you read this?
