A Father's Day Present Well Earned
Today I was hearing orchestra auditions all day, so M took the girls to a local orchard for their Strawberry Festival. They picked (or ate, if you ask L) strawberries all morning and enjoyed some hayrides and face painting. When I got home, I found this lovely abundance of strawberries:
(of which N apparently was very helpful in picking!)
M has requested a strawberry rhubarb pie for Father's Day, and now that he so helpfully supplied the strawberries, I am happy to supply the pie.
That is, after I have my supper. I may even procrastinate on making the pie until tomorrow. Funny how a full day of sitting on my rear listening to violin auditions wore me out at least as much, if not more, than chasing after three young children.
Speaking of, how did I get so lucky to have a husband who willingly "chased after" three kids at the orchard all day, and then, when asked how his day went, said "It was wonderful."
He really is the best of fathers. We are lucky girls!
