Easter Weekend

Since Mommy and Daddy had a busy schedule at church with Holy Week services, we did Easter a little bit differently this year.  Daddy stayed home with the girls while Mommy sang for Maundy Thursday.  Uncle Ben came into town Friday afternoon and together with Aunt Beth he watched the girls while M and I sang for the Good Friday service.  Saturday morning, we did Easter Baskets for the girls:
Waking up to eggs hidden in the living room and a trail of candy (yay for a pre-breakfast sugar rush!)

L's Little People School Bus from the Easter Bunny was a big hit!

After Easter baskets, we went out to breakfast with Aunt Beth and Uncle Ben.  L had fun (and got wet) playing in the decorative water thing outside.

N and L both got stuffed animals from the host at the restaurant as an Easter gift, and N named her little elephant "Sam"

C took a nap in the sunshine

Then we came home and had sunny outdoor time!

The only way we could get L to leave the water thing at the restaurant was to promise that we would get out her water table at home.

Tips from Uncle Ben

Hooray for sunshine!
On Sunday morning, Mommy and Daddy had 3 services to sing at church, so N and L stayed home with Aunt Beth and Uncle Ben (thanks, guys!) and C tagged along.  Had I had enough bottles pumped, I would have left C home too, because as it was she basically stayed in the same room for about 5 hours while Mommy and Daddy sang, and got passed around quite a bit.  But she was an absolute gem.  She was friendly with everyone, nursed in the 20-minute windows I had free to come back, slept when she needed to, and was generally pleasant otherwise.  I think a less patient baby would have gone nuts!  Many thanks to our friend Dan who stayed with her while I ran back and forth to sing different parts of the service.  And many thanks to C for being so good!

Then we came home and chowed down on this crockpot curry recipe.  I made it vegetarian by substituting veggie broth and omitting the chicken.  Yum!

Sunday evening Grandma and Grandpa stopped by on their way back from Maine, and took us all out to ice cream!!  A lovely ending to a busy weekend.

When I think back on Easter one year ago, it's incredible to think how much has changed since then.  I was barely pregnant with C, didn't know it yet, and L wasn't even walking!  All three of our girls have grown and changed so much in such a short time.  My cup overflows!
