Halloween Preview

Since this morning was N's Halloween Parade at preschool, I'm choosing to reveal her Halloween costume on the blog a little early so that you can all enjoy the pictures.  Drumroll please...

Ladies and gentlemen... Snow White!

I'll share the story of how this year's costume idea evolved when I reveal L's costume on Monday.  Yes, I'm baiting you to come back and read my blog again.

N has been waiting for weeks for this day, and the day proved to be just as exciting for her as she had anticipated.  Here are the other shots we took before leaving the house.

L always has to be a part of any photo that is being taken.  She walked right up, squeezed right in next to sister, and said "Cheeeeeeeese" until I took another picture.  I didn't have the heart to photo-shop out N's dirty underwear she had fished out of the laundry hamper especially for the picture.

Of course we had to put on some red lipstick so she would have "lips as red as the red red rose".  It immediately got smudged onto her shirt sleeve, but oh well.

I did her hair Snow White style... pretty proud of that!
L and I dropped her off in her classroom and then went downstairs and waited for the Halloween parade to begin.  The kids paraded their costumes one by one and posed for pictures in a chair in the church lobby.  L cheered enthusiastically and I took pictures-- all of which came out terribly.  Trying to take pictures on a cell phone in bad lighting while holding a toddler doesn't usually work well.  Oh well, I'll include a few anyway.

This was so cute-- Snow White chatting with Harry Potter.  I wish you could see his glasses!!
I was happy that, although there were many princesses in her class (including 2 Cinderellas), she was the only Snow White.  So we were somewhat original.

After the parade, the parents left and the kiddos enjoyed Halloween crafting, an ice cream sundae party (a BIG hit with N) and fruit-salad-making, which they each took home in an orange peel hollowed-out and carved to look like a pumpkin.  So cute!  N has been talking about her day ever since.

A funny story... when I went to pick her up and we were walking out of the school building, N said "Josh gave me a kiss today."  I assumed that Josh must have been moved by Snow White's beauty and declared himself handsome prince, or something like that.  I replied, "Oh really?" and N said "Yeah.  It was a pushy kiss."  I chuckled and said, "Well, that happens sometimes."

When we got home, I was unpacking her backpack and found a little Hershey's Kiss inside.  I said, "Oh look N, you got some candy!"  She replied "Oh yeah, that's my pushy kiss from Josh."  (She had heard the word "pushy" instead of "Hershey"... haha!)

Stay tuned for the real Halloween report!
