Wiggly Party!!
N came up with the idea for a Wiggles birthday party a couple months ago, and I thought it was the perfect party for her: fruit salad and lots of singing, dancing, and games with our friends. What could be better?
I suggest you set the mood for this blog post with the song that inspired our party planning:
We decided to have the party at a local park/playground so that we wouldn't have to limit our guest list too much (parking is a big problem at our apartment building). It turned out to be a great place for the kids to hang out, because the playground provided ready entertainment and the park provided lots of space for running around. Since this was the first time that N invited quite a few of her friends to a birthday party, it worked out really well to be in this setting.
To go along with the Wiggles theme, we had a Big Red Car bean bag toss, drawn and constructed expertly by M with bean bags hand-made by my mother:
(Our empty pizza boxes made a great wind block!)
And of course, we all dressed up as Wiggles (a pretty easy costume, since they just wear colored shirts and black pants):
I felt very blessed that so many friends and family came to join us. The birthday girl had such a fun, special day and felt very loved. I was quite proud that she was so friendly and gracious to all of her guests. Here are some shots of N and L enjoying their pals:

This was a big hit among the kids, and a present in and of itself for the girls-- L and N still play with this on a daily basis.
We also served Fruit Salad (Yummy Yummy), made by my mother and served in an expertly cut watermelon basket.
The kids really enjoyed eating this too!
We had a Dorothy the Dinosaur cake:

Happy 3 years old to N, and thanks to all who helped us celebrate!
**Special thanks to my mother, who prepared a lot of the party items and really helped the tired pregnant Mommy to throw a nice birthday party.
**Photo credits for this post go to my father and cousin Mikala. Thanks!!
