Happy Thoughts

Here are a couple things that made me happy yesterday:

It's been a while since I've posted a good conversation with N.  This one definitely made me smile:

N: Stories and rhymes, Mama.  Stories and rhymes.  (Don't really know where that came from.)  I have a rhyme!
Mama: Wonderful!  What is your rhyme about?
N:  It's called "Lunch and Food."
Mama:  Alright, let's hear it!
N: Rhyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyme.

Ever since we put the air conditioner in their room, the girls have been napping really well.  I guess it's the ambient noise combined with the extra activity of outdoor summer time play.  So here's how I spent an extended nap time yesterday:

I wish I had gotten a picture before we dug into the pie, because it really was quite beautiful... not to toot my own horn or anything. :-)

Farm-fresh strawberries and rhubarb made the most delicious pie I've eaten in a while.  How could that not make you happy?  And there's something so relaxing and therapeutic about rolling out the dough, trimming the edges, forming the crust... it made me really enjoy being home and able to appreciate these simple pleasures.
