Most days, I like to be a get-out-and-do-stuff kind of Mom. This past weekend, we spent some time with good friends Saturday morning and took a long trip (to my parents' house) on Sunday. On Monday, I was exhausted, but I wanted to get out and wear the girls out, so I could be assured that they would take their naps, and therefore be assured that
I could take
my nap. So we took them
here for some fun, active indoor play on a frigid winter day.
But today, I was really in the mood to stay home and enjoy some quiet. Judging by the girls' happy dispositions all morning, and their current peaceful napping snores over their monitors, they were in that same mood.
Here are some photos of the quiet things we enjoyed today.

N has been quite impressed with the size of these icicles hanging from our windows and roof.
|
So, today we decided to go outside and try getting some. (Don't worry, Mama carefully removed them from the overhang while shielding my head from falling ice with one hand, and N stood far away and waited)

This turned out to be a really funny picture, because she looks like she's about to stab somebody! It's hard to say cheese when snow is blowing in your face.

...and smiles!
And of course, we enjoyed the snow falling quietly all morning... and I'm thankful that we didn't have any reason to be out on the roads today. M just arrived home as well, due to the fact that they closed school a little early and cancelled all evening activities. It looks like we're in for... you guessed it... a quiet evening at home. What more could I want?
