Obligatory Halloween Post

Here's our little "kitty cat", dressed and ready to go.  It's actually a leopard costume but she got a big kick out of telling people that she was a kitty cat.

Trick-or-treating was fun this year, because N really understood what was going on, and enjoyed all the anticipation of Halloween that I remember experiencing as a child.  She was prepared for the event by several viewings of "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" and lots of practice ringing imaginary doorbells and saying "trick or treat!"  She also got to wear her costume to library story time last week, so she was prepared to tell people what she was.  When the time came, she was an awesome trick-or-treater... quite happy to converse with people and take lots of their candy.

Our little L was a lobster, and she did come along for the trick-or-treating extravaganza (which was really just a short walk around to the houses in our little apartment complex), but she was nearly asleep in Daddy's arms before we even left the house.

Hey, I don't blame her.  It was her bedtime, and she was warmly and cozily bundled underneath her crustaceous exoskeleton.

Here's Miss Kitty Cat with her stash:

...and putting her feet up with some well-deserved M&M's and a repeat viewing of "the Great Pumpkin."

Here is the M&M-juice goatee that followed:

Looks cute with the whiskers, eh?

A fun time was had by all, including our spooky jack-o-lantern, who looked appropriately spooky on our front doorstep (although he greeted nary a trick-or-treater):

I have a few videos, but I'll post this now so it will get posted... and get those videos uploaded for you soon.  We hope your Halloween was a happy one!

P.S. I'm pretty sure N learned the word "stupid" from Linus and the Great Pumpkin.  Oops.  Hopefully she won't start calling people blockheads, too.
